  • Why I Started SysAdminFAQ

    Hi, I’m Javier.

I’ve been working in IT since the late 1990s. Over the years I’ve had the opportunity to work in help desk support, systems administration, networking, virtualization, cloud services, telecommunications, and infrastructure engineering. I’ve supported small businesses, corporate environments, manufacturing operations, and everything in between.

Like many people in IT, I didn’t start my career knowing exactly where it would lead. What began with troubleshooting PCs and supporting users eventually turned into managing servers, networks, cloud platforms, virtualization environments, and business-critical infrastructure.

Today, I work as a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, but I’m still learning something new almost every day.

That’s one of the reasons I decided to start this website.

    Why This Site Exists

The internet has no shortage of technology content.

The problem is that much of it falls into one of three categories:

    • Marketing disguised as advice
    • Documentation written for experts
    • AI-generated articles that repeat the same information found elsewhere

I wanted to create something different.

SysAdminFAQ is a place where I can share practical knowledge, lessons learned, troubleshooting tips, scripts, tools, and technology news that I find useful in my daily work.

In many ways, this site will serve as my own knowledge base.

If I solve a problem, discover a useful script, learn something new about Azure, Microsoft 365, networking, Windows Server, Linux, or telecommunications, there’s a good chance I’ll document it here for future reference.

If it helps someone else along the way, even better.

    What You’ll Find Here

Topics on this site will include:

    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft 365
    • Azure
    • Cisco networking
    • Hyper-V
    • Linux
    • PowerShell
    • Virtualization
    • Telecommunications and VoIP
    • Infrastructure design
    • Troubleshooting
    • IT careers and professional growth

I’ll also write about technology news and industry changes that affect both businesses and everyday users.

    Not because it’s trending.

But because understanding why a technology change matters is often more important than the announcement itself.

    What You Won’t Find Here

    This isn’t a cybersecurity blog.

Security is important and will certainly come up from time to time, but it’s not the primary focus.

You also won’t find endless product reviews, clickbait headlines, or articles written just to fill space.

    My goal is simple:

Publish useful content that I would actually want to read myself.

Building This Site One Article At A Time

I’m not trying to build a media company.

I’m not chasing millions of page views.

I’m simply creating a place to document ideas, solutions, experiences, and lessons learned throughout my career in IT.

    Some posts will be technical.

    Some will be opinion pieces.

Some will be quick tips, scripts, or troubleshooting guides.

Others may focus on industry trends, infrastructure projects, cloud technologies, networking, or the realities of supporting users and businesses.

If you work in IT, manage technology, run a home lab, or simply enjoy learning how things work behind the scenes, I hope you’ll find something useful here.

And if you have a question, a suggestion, or just want to say hello, feel free to reach out.
